Seasons come and go. I had an amazing summer with my family and my kids. We went to Disneyworld & drove across the State of Florida. We made some unforgettable memories during our stay.
We had the chance to go the Gulfstream Park racetrack and the stables to meet Tropical Jones. That was a great time for the hubby. He won a contest for part stake owner in a horse and we went to meet the trainer and horse. That was uh-mazing!
I got to hang out with my most favorite photographer Twyla Jones and her boys at her favorite beach in her home of Stuart, Florida. Seriously an amazing time hanging out with her kids trying to teach them how to surf. We swam in the east coast ocean for the first time. The salt water was SO different from what we were used to . I will never forget that day.
Some of the other things we enjoyed was Weeki Wachi and also making the stop to visit Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg.
As soon as we got home from all of the fun chaos in Florida, it was time to celebrate the 4th of July.
4th of July is BIG where we live. Huge bike parade with a breakfast served by members of the community who volunteer their time for the event. I was asked to photograph the event, which was an honor. My husband and the kids had a great time with all of the family at Grandma’s house. I made my way to be with them after the bike parade. We lit off the biggest fireworks in the street (courtesy of Grandpa) , had a neighbor complain about us too :(
The rest of the summer was library visits, lots of bike rides and walks. Frequency at the children’s museums. If I had to make a complaint about summer it would have to be about all of the meals I had to prepare! My kids hit a growth spurt this year and I swear it was like I was buying 4 f*cking gallons of milk a week. That would be equivalent to like 1 gallon per person for ages 3.5.7. - I mean how was that possible?! In times like this when I start to complain about things like this I think of something someone once told me, “you have to feed and water a flower in order for it to grow”
And well there it is then… Summer is a beautiful rushed season jam packed with SO MANY incredible experiences. I wish they could go on forever. But that’s the cycle of life right. Be present. Be here. Be loving and aware. Open to what the future has to hold for our children. As with the duty of nature to spread our seed, we plant, bloom, blossom, wilt and the process repeats itself. I am just grateful to be a conscious mother, have a rad partner to share this all with, and three beautiful girls who teach me so much about love and life.
Here are just some of the photos from our Summer 2018 - ok maybe almost all of them - LOL
